This is a handmade Sweet Chestnut chopping board for people who like their wood with a bit of character.
Made from a chunky slab of Sweet Chestnut, it keeps the natural live edge, beautiful grain and all those little imperfections that remind you this started life as a bloody tree, not something spat out of a factory.
The black epoxy detail works with the natural character of the timber rather than trying to hide it. The whole board has been carefully sanded to bring out the grain and create a smooth, tactile finish while keeping that proper rustic Chonky Wonky look.
And at approximately 21 × 9 × 2 inches, this isn't some skinny little supermarket chopping board.
It's a proper lump of wood.
Use it for chopping and food prep, load it with cheese and charcuterie when you've got people round, pile bread on it, serve from it, or just leave the bastard sitting on the kitchen worktop looking magnificent.
Because every piece of timber has its own grain, knots, edges and natural character, no two Chonky Wonky boards are exactly alike. That's rather the point.

How big is the board?

Can I actually use it as a chopping board?

Will my board look exactly like the photographs?
This is a one-off handmade piece, so the board pictured is the board you're buying. With natural timber, the grain, colour, knots and character are all part of what makes it unique.
How should I look after it?
Wipe it clean after use and don't leave it soaking in water or stick it in the dishwasher. It's wood, not a dinner plate. Let it dry properly before putting it away.
