Jason calls it “liquid magic.”

Scarred.

Covered in stories.

The Workshop Routine (If You Can Call It That)
There is no strict schedule in the Chonky Wonky workshop.
There is only rhythm.

Some days start with sanding.
Some days start with shaping.
Some days start with coffee and complaining about sanding and shaping.

But every day follows the same flow:

1. Inspect the wood
Feel it.
Study it.
Listen to it.

2. Decide its destiny
Chopping board?
Serving board?
Charcuterie platter?
Something experimental?

3. Shape it
Cutting.
Planing.
Trimming.
Following the grain, not fighting it.

4. Sand it
Hours of sanding.
Days of sanding.
Sanding until the wood feels like warm butter.

5. Stabilise it
Epoxy for cracks.
Resin for splits.
Creativity for wonkiness.

6. Finish it
Mineral oil.
Wax.
Buffing.
Watching the grain come alive.

7. Brand it
The Chonky Wonky mark — the final blessing.

8. Stand back and admire
Because every piece deserves a moment of appreciation.

The Workshop Has Rules (Sort Of)
Jason and Jon don’t have many rules, but the ones they do have are sacred.

Rule 1: Respect the wood
It lived a long life.
It deserves care.

Rule 2: Embrace the wonkiness
Straight lines are boring.
Nature is better.

Rule 3: No board leaves the workshop unless it’s perfect
Not perfect in shape — perfect in character.

Rule 4: Coffee is essential
No explanation needed.

Rule 5: If a tool misbehaves, Jon threatens to replace it
The tools fear Jon.
They behave for Jason.
